In a landmark moment for Indian cricket, Jasprit Bumrah etched his name into the history books by becoming the first Indian bowler to claim 100 wickets in each format of the game. He already had over 100 wickets in both Tests and ODIs, and he reached this milestone with his performance against South Africa during the 1st T20I of the series in Cuttack.

The right-arm pacer achieved this feat in just 78 T20I innings, with an astonishing average of 18 and a splendid economy of 6.5, which is a remarkable achievement in itself.

With the wicket of Dewald Brevis in the IND vs SA 1st T20I in Cuttack, Jasprit Bumrah became the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in T20Is. India's ace fast bowler got his 100th T20I wicket by bowling a back of a length delivery to Brevis, with the batter late on the pull and giving a simple catch to Suryakumar Yadav at extra cover.

There was a slight confusion whether it was a legal delivery with the third umpire checking with multiple angles. However, it went in Bumrah's favor as he completed a fine record. A couple of balls later, Bumrah picked up his 101st wicket in T20Is by dismissing Keshav Maharaj as well. It was a fine bowling performance from him as he finished with 2-17 in 3 overs.

Jasprit Bumrah 100 wickets in the T20I format is a remarkable achievement, as after Arshdeep Singh, he became just the second fastest Indian bowler to claim this feat. Bumrah, who is one of the best bowlers in the world, has above 230 wickets in Test cricket and nearly 150 wickets in ODIs. As a result, he also became the first Indian bowler to have more than 100 wickets in each format of the game.
