Jharkhand Premier League Opening Ceremony 2026: Live Streaming, Timings and Performers

The Jharkhand Premier League will begin at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Wednesday, marking the beginning of a new domestic franchise competition inspired by the IPL format. The tournament is being organised by the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) under the framework laid out by the BCCI.

Six franchise teams will compete in the competition, with a total of 27 matches scheduled across the tournament. Adding to the excitement, former India captain and one of the best wicketkeeper-batsmen in the world, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is attending the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.

The teams taking part in the inaugural edition are Chotanagpur Royals, Ranchi Titans, Koylanchal Super Kings, Jamshedpur Steelers, Dhanbad Diamonds, and Santhal Strikers.

Where to Watch Jharkhand Premier League Opening Ceremony 2026?

JSCA Vice-President Sanjay Pandey confirmed the participation of MS Dhoni. The ceremony is scheduled to take place after the completion of the opening fixture, while Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor is set to entertain spectators with a live performance after 6:00 PM IST. The league phase will feature 24 matches before the competition moves into the knockout rounds.

The opening day will feature two matches, beginning with Chotanagpur Royals taking on Ranchi Titans at 12:00 PM. Later in the day, Koylanchal Super Kings will face Jamshedpur Steelers in the second fixture. The Jharkhand Premier League opening ceremony live streaming might not be available on JioHotsar, as the live performance by Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor is believed to be exclusive for the fans present in the stadium.

There is also some disappointing news for local fans ahead of the tournament, as Jharkhand’s star wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will miss the competition because of his duties with the Indian team. All-rounder Anukul Roy will also not be available, as he is currently touring Sri Lanka with the India A squad.
