Then in 2018, he was acquired by one of the most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League Mumbai Indians for 6.2 Crores INR, and remained part of the MI family for the next 7 years, He was also the most expensive player in the IPL auction of 2022, MI broke their bank for him.
