List of Pakistan Players Sold in The Hundred 2026
The franchise at the Hundred auction prioritized securing the services of some of the best spinners from the sub-continent. There were two Pakistani spinners who have found a new home in the Hundred during the auction. Pakistan's star off-spinner Usman Tariq, who recently made a lot of headlines because of his controversial bowling action, was sold to the Birmingham Phoenix for 140,000 pounds. The mystery spinner also got bids from the Trent Rockets but was acquired by the Phoenix eventually.
Another Pakistani spinner, Abrar Ahmed, was sold during the auction as IPL-backed franchise Sunrisers Leeds bought him for a whopping 190,000 pounds (INR 2.34 crore). The price makes him one of the most expensive spinners in the league, and that too when there were reports that the IPL-backed franchises like the Sunrisers Leeds, MI London, and Manchester Super Giants were likely to avoid Pakistani players during the auction.
List of Pakistan Players Unsold in Hundred
There were also some big Pakistan players in The Hundred Auction who went unsold. Pakistan's veteran pacer Haris Rauf, who is known for his raw pace, went surprisingly unsold. His base price was 100,000 pounds but there wasn't a single table that bid for him, making him the first Pakistan player to go under the hammer. Interestingly, Rauf has earlier played for Welsh Fire in the past.
Another star Pakistani player and all-rounder, Shadab Khan, also went unsold. Just like his teammate Rauf, Shadab also failed to attract any bids during the auction.
With all these happenings, it can be said that there will less Pakistani players who will feature in the upcoming season of The Hundred. In addition to that, the newly-appointed captain of the Pakistan ODI team, Shaheen Shah Afridi, one of the best T20 bowlers, withdrew his name from the auction and will be unavailable to play in the upcoming season.
Newly-appointed Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi is among five male overseas players who have withdrawn their names from the Hundred's auction. Afridi has played in the Hundred previously in 2023, picking up six wickets for the Welsh Fire.
