Namibia Qualifies for T20 World Cup 2026 After Convincing Victory

Namibia has finally qualified for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 following a commanding 63-run victory against Tanzania in the first semi-final of the Africa Regional Final 2025 at the Harare Sports Club. Namibia were put into bat and took advantage of a brilliant all-round performance from JJ Smit (61) to post a strong 174/6 in 20 overs. Contributions from the top order set up the innings before Smit's explosive cameo and Gerhard Erasmus's 55 runs helped push their total to a respectable one.
Chasing 175, Tanzania never really got started as Namibia's disciplined bowling attack picked up wickets at regular intervals. The Tanzanian batters struggled to build partnerships and were dismissed for 111/8 in their 20 overs. JJ Smit starred with the bat and then contributed with the ball to earn the Player of the Match award. With this win, Namibia qualified for the T20 World Cup, marking their fourth appearance at this global event.
