Oman A captain Hammad Mirza won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the decision proved costly as Nepal kept chipping in with early wickets. Right-arm pacer Nandan Yadav picked two early wickets while veteran fast bowler Karan KC also made full use of early morning conditions.

However, Hammad Mirza and Zikriya Islam stitched an important partnership for the fifth wicket to bring the innings back on track. Zikriya was dismissed after a fluent 35. Meanwhile, Hammad Mirza was dismissed by his Nepali counterpart Sandeep Lamichhane after a well-made half-century.

Oman A kept losing wickets at regular interval after the fall of their captain. In the end, they were bundled out for just 160 runs inside 40 overs. In reply, Nepal lost an early wicket in the form of the opener Arjun Kumal. The other opener Aasif Sheikh looked good but was also run out.

Why Was the Target Revised in Nepal vs Oman A Match?

The NEP vs OMN A match had some interesting moments which is quite rare in cricket. Despite the Oman A team getting dismissed for 160 runs, Nepal's target was set at 240 runs, and that too when there was no rain or any delay.

The reason for the Nepal revised target against Oman A is the training challenge for the visiting batters ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 fixtures. It was the decision of Nepal to increase their target so that their players get some important match time in this warm-up game.
