India U19 Create History

The final Super Six match in Bulawayo between India and Pakistan was crucial, with qualification for the semi-finals of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 at stake. Overcoming all the hurdles, the Boys in Blue secured their place in the semi-finals, knocking Pakistan out of the tournament.

While fans expected a high-intensity clash between the arch-rivals, the match lived up to expectations. Under the captaincy of one of the best batsmen in the world, Ayush Mhatre, India have remained unbeaten in the tournament so far.

Pakistan Knocked Out of U19 World Cup

India U19 made history by defeating Pakistan in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026, securing a vital win to advance to the semi-finals. They are now set to face Afghanistan on February 4 in Harare.

Not only did India eliminate their arch-rivals, but they also extended their unbeaten run in the tournament with a convincing 58-run victory. The win was powered by outstanding bowling performances from Skipper Ayush Mhatre and Khilan Patel. Mhatre might be having a lean patch with the bat, but with the ball, he does surely have a golden arm. Even in the previous game, he managed to claim three wickets, helping India clinch victory.

If we look at the Mhatre-led India team, the young lads look confident, and each of them contributed in one or the other match, which is surely a great sign for the team heading into the semi-finals. Along with India, Australia, Afghanistan and England are the U19 World Cup semi-finalists 2026.

India Thrash Pakistan To Enter Semis in Style

India and Pakistan faced each other in the final match of the Super Sixes round in Bulawayo. Batting first, India struggled to build momentum and found it difficult to stitch together partnerships. They lost three early wickets inside the powerplay, slumping to 47 for 3. However, Vedant Trivedi played a fighting knock of 68, while Vihaan Malhotra contributed 21, as the duo attempted to steady the innings with a brief partnership.

After the fall of those wickets, RS Ambrish (29) and Kanishk Chouhan (35) added valuable runs in the slog overs, helping India post a total of 252. Pakistan’s Abdul Subhan was the standout bowler, finishing with three wickets in 9.5 overs while conceding just 33 runs, making him the most economical on the day.

Pakistan’s chase got off to a shaky start with the early loss of a wicket, but opener Hamza Zahoor (42), Usman Khan (66), and skipper Farhan Yousaf (38) steadied the innings and kept the required run rate under control. With 252 to chase, Pakistan needed to reach the target within 33.5 overs to stay alive in the tournament. Despite being in a commanding position for most of the chase, they failed to do so and were knocked out of the competition.

The turning point came in the 35th over when one of the best cricketers in the world, at U19 level, Ayush Mhatre, dismissed Usman Khan against the run of play. From there, Pakistan suffered a dramatic collapse, losing the remaining wickets in quick succession. Kanishk Chouhan was adjudged Player of the Match for his impactful all-round performance in the India vs Pakistan U19 World Cup encounter.
