The Indian Cricket Team, since last year, have been on a mission to win the International Cricket Council (ICC) titles. After winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the Men in Blue showed their dominance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, winning their second title within nine months. After winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 undefeated, the Indian Cricket Team displayed a similar kind of outing in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, they displayed a dominating performance in the tournament and won the title without losing a single game. Due to the hybrid model, India played all their games of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. With a spin-heavy bowling attack, they made a mockery of almost every opposition and won the tournament with ease, beating New Zealand, one of the best cricket teams in the world, in the final.

After India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Celebrations in the Indian camp were right on the money. The players, as well as the supporting staff, were chuffed to bits as all of them did a victory lap in the stadium to celebrate their second consecutive ICC title. Months later, unseen footage of the celebrations in the Indian camp has taken the limelight. On the 79th Independence Day, Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared a video in which he captured the unfiltered reactions of the players.

The clip starts with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill celebrating aggressively inside the dressing room, and then Rishabh Pant is seen having fun with all the other players of the team, who were capturing pictures with the Trophy.

In the end, Rishabh Pant asked Rohit Sharma about his retirement plans. The Indian ODI skipper replied, saying "he won't take retirement after winning the ICC trophy in his format."

Rishabh Pant didn't feature in any of the games in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. KL Rahul was preferred over him as the first-choice keeper, and the right-hander did a magnificent job with it. He was a rock in the middle and helped the team win.

Rishabh Pant was last seen in action during the test series against the England Cricket Team. The keeper-batter played a massive role for his side in the series, scoring 479 runs. He slammed twin centuries in the first game of the series at Headingley in Leeds, becoming the first keeper-batter to do that in England. It firmly established Pant's status as one of the best Test batters in the world.
After that, he hit three half-centuries before getting injured in the fourth test at Old Trafford in Manchester. The keeper-batter attempted to play the reverse sweep but hit on his toe. He looked in immense pain and was taken off the field on a mini ambulance.

Rishabh Pant was diagnosed with a broken toe, but despite that, he walked out to bat and slammed a fifty. He played a vital role in India ending the test series against England in a draw by a margin of 2-2.
Rishabh Pant is likely to be out of action for a few weeks. There have been several reports which have claimed that he won't be picked in the Asia Cup 2025. Along with his injury, his poor numbers in the T20Is are the reason that selectors are unlikely to pick him.
It is learned that Sanju Samson will be the first-choice keeper in the Asia Cup 2025. There will be a fight for the spot between Dhruv Jurel and Jitesh Sharma for the second keeper's spot.
