Pakistan, Zimbabwe Captains Face Possible Ban for Anti-Corruption Breach During PSL

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi and Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza have found themselves in the middle of a controversy amidst the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Both Lahore Qalandars players have breached the PSL anti corruption code.

Shaheen and Raza breached the security protocols of the Pakistan Super League. According to the protocols, the family members the players and staff are not allowed to meet the players in their hotel room.

But Sikandar Raza, one of the best all-rounders in the world, breached that code and conduct and both players could now end up facing big punishment. Due to the ongoing West Asia conflict, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued strict guidelines and protocols for PSL 2026.

Shaheen Afridi and Sikandar Raza to be Banned?

According to ESPN Cricinfo, Sikandar Raza invited four family members to meet him at his hotel room. However, the members weren’t allowed to enter the room and were stopped by the Anti-Corruption department.

This didn’t go well with Raza as he immediately contacted the PSL Manager, who also denied the permission. The all-rounder was then forced to contact his Lahore Qalandars captain, Shaheen, who then took matters into his own hands.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi broke all the protocols and forcefully escorted Raza's family to the hotel room. The matters were taken to the higher authorities, who will soon be releasing the official statement on the same. There is also a possibility of Shaheen Afridi ban according to the rules and regulations.

On breaching the protocols, Shaheen and Raza might get banned by PCB for two years. The Lahore Qalandars players would be hoping that the PCB doesn’t take serious action or else things would get difficult for them. However, Shaheen Afridi protocol breach has already landed him in trouble. Not only the Qalandars captain, the prospects of Sikandar Raza PSL ban is also looming high in the air.

Lahore Qalandars Start PSL 2026 On a High

Coming to Lahore Qalandars, they started PSL 2026 on a high note. Under the leadership of Shaheen Afridi, one of the best T20 bowlers, they defeated the debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by a massive margin of 69 runs.

Raza played a great role in that match as he stepped up with bat and ball. First with the bat, he slammed 24 runs off just 10 balls and then picked up two wickets to help his team win the match and start the season on a high.
