The former Pakistan captain, Shoaib Malik, took to his Instagram account and uploaded his retirement post from PSL 2026. However, he also stated that his passion and motivation for the sport will forever stay. Shoaib Malik retirment post went viral on social media as soon as he uploaded it.
“I cherish every single moment and friendship I have made on and off the field throughout my 10 years of the Pakistan Super League as a player. It’s time to call it a day. However, my passion and motivation to serve for the betterment of cricket will always stay. Thank you PSL” he wrote in his Instagram post.

Shoaib Malik’s Impressive Stats in PSL
Shoaib Malik is one of the very few cricketers who have been featuring consistently since the start of the league. In the early days, the PSL used to be hosted by the UAE; however, after a few years, Pakistan started to host the league itself, and Malik continued to dominate on the home soil as well.
The star all-rounder, who is also one of the best cricketers in the world, represented four franchises in his 10-year PSL career - Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.
Malik last played PSL for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 10, which was his last appearance in the league. The right-handed batter featured in 92 matches in his PSL career and is the fourth-highest run-scorer with 2,350 runs at a magnificent average of 33.09, including 15 half-centuries. While talking about his bowling stats, the off-spinner didn't get to bowl much as he picked up only 17 wickets. However, he was economical and useful in the middle overs.
