Indian captain Shubman Gill achieved a massive feat for his team in the longest format of the game. He joined the legends like Virat Kohli and Mohammad Azharuddin to achieve this massive achievement in the history of Indian cricket. Both Kohli and Azharuddin are true legends of Indian cricket and are excellent at the leadership level.

Gill had a fantastic series as a captain and also as a batter. With more than 700 runs in this series, he finished as the second-most run-getter for India in a Test series. Shubman Gill became only the third captain in the history of Indian cricket to win the Player of the Series in a Test series in England. The right-hander mustered 754 runs in ten innings and also slammed four centuries, at an average of over 75.

With this performance, Gill etched his name among the best Test captains in Indian cricket He joins Mohammad Azharuddin, who won the Player of the Series Award in 1990 against England. The former captain of the Indian team had slammed 426 runs during that series at an average of over 85. He also slammed two tons and one fifty.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli won the Player of the Series Award during the 2018 England tour. The star batter ended the series as the highest run-getter with 593 runs to his name at an average of 59.30. His tally also included two centuries and three fifties.
