Suryakumar Yadav Breaks into Top 10 Ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

Suryakumar Yadav Moves Up to Seventh Spot in ICC T20I Rankings

The Indian skipper, who struggled to score a half-century last year, has started the new year on a high. His heroics in the IND vs NZ series have made him climb five places to seventh in the ICC men's T20I rankings for batsmen. Suryakumar Yadav ICC T20 ranking rise comes as a great confidence booster for him ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Suryakumar, who is widely as one of the best T20 batsmen of this generation, will be a key player for the Men in Blue in the upcoming T20 World Cup. His return to form makes India an even tougher opposition for the opponents.

Suryakumar Yadav batting ranking has improved at the right time. The former World No. 1 batter has 717 rating points to his name. He is only the third Indian in the top ten rankings of T20Is alongside Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma.

Abhishek Sharma, who has slammed two half-centuries in the ongoing IND vs NZ series, has extended his lead at the top with 929 rating points. Tilak Varma, who has been ruled out of the series, still holds the third spot with 781 rating points to his name.

Suryakumar Yadav's Timely Return to Form

Suryakumar Yadav would be keen to move into the top five of the rankings, especially with two more games left in the series. The India captain is currently the leading run-getter in the India vs New Zealand series so far, thanks to his three blistering knocks in which he has shown why he is among the most dangerous batsmen in the world.

In the first game, he looked in decent touch but couldn’t score big and ended up hitting 32. His best came in the second match, where he slammed an unbeaten 82 runs and helped India chase the 209-run target inside 16 overs.

Then in the third T20I, Suryakumar came up with another brutal innings. He scored an unbeaten 57 as India chased down 154 runs in just ten overs. With two more games left, he would be aiming to score a big hundred and help his team complete a 5-0 whitewash.
