Suryavanshi, Abhishek Picked in India A Squad For Rising Stars Asia Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-member India A squad for the upcoming Rising Stars Asia Cup 2026. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma, two of the best T20 batsmen of the current generation, are among the prominent names selected for the tournament.

The ACC Men's Rising Stars Asia Cup will take place in Doha, Qatar, from November 19 to 29, 2026. The squad also features some of the prominent names in Indian cricket. Meanwhile, fast bowler Harshit Rana has returned to the setup after recovering from an injury.

The selection committee has picked a balanced 15-member squad for the upcoming competition. Tilak Varma will lead the team, with Rajat Patidar serving as his deputy.

Abhishek Sharma and teenage batting talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi are among the notable selections. The presence of Vaibhav Suryavanshi in India A squad is particularly interesting and it may be a hint that the selectors are looking at him as a 50-over batter.

Rinku Singh, Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra have also earned places. The squad includes two wicketkeeper options in Prabhsimran and Kushagra. Harshit Rana's selection is another notable development. The pacer had been sidelined with an injury since the tour of England. He now returns to the India A setup ahead of the tournament.

The presence of Abhishek Sharma in India A marks an interesting step from the BCCI as they aim to win this tournment this time around. India A lost to Bangladesh A in the previous edition of the tournament.
