Top 5 Unsold Players in WPL Mega Auction 2026

The Women Premier League (WPL) 2026 is currently underway in New Delhi on Thursday, November 27. All the franchises have come up prepared and have picked some of the big names in women’s cricket. A total of 277 players will be going under the hammer, out of which 194 (52 capped and 142 uncapped) will be Indian players, while 83 will be overseas players (66 capped and 17 uncapped). Out of the 277 players, only 73 slots will be filled.

The Australian spinner, Alana King, has been one of the leading spinners in world cricket, and her heroics in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 took Australia to the semi-final. She also has been handy with the bat down the order and was expected to fetch a big bid. Alana King, who was part of the UP Warriorz in the WPL 2025, was one of the top names going into the auction.

4. Amy Jones

Another shocker in the WPL Mega Auction 2026 was Amy Jones going unsold. With a lot of teams needing a wicketkeeper in their squad, it was almost certain that Jones would be one of the top picks in the WPL Mega Auction 2026. But she also failed to attract any bidders.

3. Tanzim Brits

South African batter Tanzim Brits failed to find the bidders for the third straight time in the WPL. She had set a base price of INR 30 lakh, and no team expressed her interest. She was spot on with her performances in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Brits is the sixth-ranked batter in T20Is and also averages 32.42 with the bat in the format.

Having a base price of 30 lakh and the ability that she brings with bat and ball, it was expected that she would easily find the bidders. However, no one showed interest, and she faced the heartbreak. She was part of the UP Warriorz in the last three seasons.

She had set herself a base price of INR 50 lakh, and many expected that there would be a bidding war. She has been one of the best batters going in women’s cricket and brings in with her three dimensions as an opener, wicket-keeper, and captain.
