Unmukt Chand Documentary Set to be Released

Unmukt Chand's documentary will be released on 12th September 2025 on Netflix. The director of the documentary of Unmukt Chand, Raghav Khanna, spoke to news agency IANS, about the documentary that is to be released.

“We all remember Unmukt Chand as the flamboyant young batsman once hailed as the “next big thing” in Indian cricket. Yet, his journey unfolded in the most unexpected direction. Few sportspersons have experienced a meteoric rise and fall like Unmukt. To go from being celebrated as a prodigious talent to being slowly sidelined into anonymity speaks not only to the unforgiving nature of professional sport, but to the fragility of life itself,” said Khanna to IANS.

Unmukt Chand played a key role as India lifted the ICC Under-19 World Cup title in 2012 in Australia by defeating the hosts in the final. The opener played a memorable knock in the final and was immediately touted as the next-big thing in Indian cricket. Many compared him to Virat Kohli, who went on to become one of the best cricketers in the world after playing Under-19 cricket.
