28-ball Hundred, 45 Runs in an Over: Usman Ghani Rewrites Record Books in England

The 25th match of the ECS T10 England tournament was going on between the London County Cricket and Guildford. In a T10 game, nobody would have expected a team to put up a mammoth total of 226 runs, but it happened in this game thanks to Ghani. London County were having a lucky day as they won the toss and elected to bat first.

When Usman Ghani came into bat along with his partner Ismail Baharami, nobody would have imagined that a world record would be set today. While Ghani scored 153 runs off 43 balls, including 11 boundaries and 17 sixes, Baharami scored 61 runs off 19 balls, hitting seven boundaries and five sixes. Meanwhile, the Afghanistan opener set a record of scoring 45 runs in an over bowled by Will Arney. The over went for five sixes, three boundaries, two no-balls, and one wide. London County didn't lose any wickets as both the openers played incredible knocks respectively.

Guildford Fail to Chase Down the Target

When Guildford came to bat, they tried their best to chase down the mammoth total, but it was well out of reach. The batters were not able to provide the stability, which is why they lost the match by 71 runs.

For London County, Farrukh Tahir, Ali Raza, Aqib Mehmood, and Edress Kamawal, took one wicket each. For an incredible and memorable performance with the bat, Usman Ghani won the Player of the Match award. It needs to be seen how the opener performs in the rest of the tournament.

Earlier, Ghani had taken a break from international cricket in 2023. If he was playing international cricket, he might have been among the best openers in the world right now.
