Jason Holder stuns Pakistan

The competition has been quite neck-to-neck in the ongoing T20I series between West Indies and Pakistan. While the Men in Green won the first match by 14 runs at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida, the hosts took their revenge quite convincingly in the second game.

With a thrilling last-over game, the Caribbean Nation won the match by two wickets, courtesy of their veteran superstar Jason Holder. Over the past few years, the West Indies' batting has been quite poor. Even in the first match against Pakistan, they failed to chase a target of 178 runs. The second game wasn't much different as Jason Holder stuns Pakistan with his heroic innings. It helped them win the game in the dying stages of regulation to remain alive in the white-ball series.

Jason Holder Stuns Pakistan During WI vs PAK 2nd T20I

The second T20I in Lauderhill began with the West Indies losing early wickets. They were struggling towards the end of the game. It was a last-ball thriller and an interesting game for the fans to watch. For Pakistan, they would have won the series with this win, but unfortunately for them, the game changed. As the match reached the last over, West Indies needed eight runs with three wickets in hand.

When they required just three runs in the last ball, Jason Holder was on strike. Being one of the tallest cricketers in the world, Holder is known for his potent finishing abilities. He hit a boundary to take his team over the finish line.

Shaheen Afridi, one of the richest Pakistani cricketers in the world, was handed the ball during the dire situation. In the second ball, he dismissed Romario Shepherd and silenced the entire crowd. Shamar Joseph and Jason Holder somehow went through the entire over without a wicket and ended up with three runs in one ball. He sent a full-length delivery but placed the ball between the square leg and fine leg and watched it run towards the boundary. For an outstanding all-round performance, Holder was given the Player of the Match award.

West Indies Level Series 1-1 Ahead of Final Clash in Florida

Despite losing the first match, the West Indies players' confidence wasn't shaken. Their strong intent to win the game was visible on the field during the WI vs PAK 2nd T20I.

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and decided to bat first. This time, Pakistani batters couldn't find the momentum with the bat and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Openers Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan were dismissed early on 16 runs, leaving the rest of the batters under pressure. While Ayub scored seven runs, Farhan scored just three runs. They lost another wicket within one over as wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris was dismissed on four runs. From there, Agha and Fakhar Zaman tried to form a partnership before Zaman was dismissed on 20 off 19 balls. He had just hit two boundaries.

Agha and Hasan Nawaz played brilliantly but couldn't save the team from collapsing. While the skipper scored 38 runs, Nawaz scored 40 runs, including one boundary and four sixes. He played fast and looked well under control. However, Jason Holder dismissed him. The team was bowled out within no time after these two players went back to the pavilion.

Pakistan could only score 133 runs in the first innings. It was a disappointing batting performance from a team who have some of the best T20I batters. Well, it wouldn't be wrong to say that it was Jason Holder's day as he claimed a four-wicket haul in the first innings. Holder's impressive haul also played a major role in the chase, allowing West Indies to narrowly close the game.
