14-year Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Enters in Captaincy Role, Will Lead This Team

The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has announced its senior squad for the opening two fixtures of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy season, comprising a 14-member lineup. In an exciting move, 14-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named the team’s vice-captain, working alongside skipper Sakibul Gani.

After Bihar's relegation from the Elite Group last season, they will now compete in the Plate Group. After going winless in the previous Ranji Trophy season, they aim to make a strong comeback. Suryavanshi will act as deputy to captain Sakibul Gani for the first two matches of the campaign. Bihar will begin its campaign against Arunachal Pradesh in Patna at the Moin-Ul-Haq stadium, followed by a clash against Manipur in Nadiad starting October 25.

Before the Youth Tests, Suryavanshi also made his mark in the Youth ODIs, scoring 124 runs across three games, the third-highest in the series, including a rapid 70 off 68 balls in the second match. India dominated that series as well, winning all three matches convincingly.
