Teenage prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has smashed a whirlwind fifty during the opening match of Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 against the UAE. Playing for India A, Suryavanshi looked in superb form with the bat and reached his fifty in just 16 balls.

Earlier in the day, India A captain Jitesh Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. Suryavanshi came in to open the batting alongside Priyansh Arya. While Arya was unfortunately run out in the earlier part of the innings, Suryavanshi carried on and smashed sixes at will.

The youngster looked in superb form from the start and made good use of some ordinary bowling from the UAE. He reached his fifty off just 16 balls and showed why he is among the most dangerous batsmen in the world.

After scoring the fifty, he didn't stop and kept smashing the bowlers. Suryavanshi played his shots all around the ground and the opposition had no answers to his attacking intent. Vaibhav Suryavanshi hundred came off just 32 deliveries and he struck 10 fours and 9 sixes on the way to his hundred.

The bowlers of UAE tried their best and bowled different lines to dismantle Suryavanshi's form. However, the 14-year-old young prodigy was at his aggressive best in this game. He gave no chance to his opponents and played a match-defining knock.

The youngster looked good for a double-hundred but was finally dismissed for 144 off just 42 balls. Suryavanshi smashed 11 fours and 15 sixes during this knock and etched his name in the record books. He looked disappointed after being dismissed as he missed out on being the fastest batsman to score 150 runs.

Despite getting dismissed, he made sure to put his team to a position of strength. India A were 195-3 in 12.3 overs and looked on course for a gigantic total on the board. With several big-hitters yet to come, the Indian team will back themselves to cross the 300-run mark as well.
