In the second match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, India lost their 11th consecutive toss and was Invited to bowl first. India took 5 wickets in the first powerplay of the game. Bangladesh was not able to score much in the power play. The Bangladesh score after the first powerplay was 39/5. In the ninth over of the first inning, Axar Patel was brought to attack the Bangladeshi batters. On the first ball, Axar bowled a flat ball from round the wicket and got his leading edge off the bat from the Bangladeshi batter Tanzid Hasan.
