The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the prize amount on their website after the completion of the tournament. The tournament's players' prize pool was USD 11.25 million and India received USD 2,639,423 while New Zealand, who were the runners up received, USD 1,422,692. There was a record breaking increase in the prize amount from the previous edition of the ICC T20 World Cup.

The India prize money T20 World Cup will go to the BCCI and not directly to the players. Moreover, it's mentioned in the website that the amount listed is the gross money across group stage, Super 8, semi-final, and final. Meanwhile, the total amount of ICC prize money to Indian team is the base amount of USD 225,000 received by all the participating teams.

ICC Prize Money for Other Teams

While South Africa won USD 1,005,577, England earned USD 974,423. West Indies and Pakistan received USD 538,269 and 522,692, respectively. The other teams also received the ICC prize money for T20 World Cup 2026 according to their performance in the tournament. It was only Canada, Namibia, and Oman took the base payment of USD 225,000.

The prize money is a significant increase from the last edition of the T20 World Cup. The tournament consisted of 20 teams and was played across some of the best cricket stadiums in the world. India's journey throughout the tournament was exceptional as they peaked at the right time.
