Will Virat Kohli Attend BCCI Naman Awards 2026 in Delhi?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awards are all set to return. As per the reports in IANS, it is learned that the governing body is planning to organise the ceremony on March 15 in New Delhi.

As per the reports, it is learned that the BCCI has sent an invitation to all ICC trophy-winning Indian teams from the last year. This means that the winners of T20 World Cup 2024, 2026, Champions Trophy 2025, Women’s World Cup 2025, U19 boys, and U19 girls will be invited as well.

On the same day, the BCCI will also be organising a captain's photoshoot for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in New Delhi. The league is all set to begin on March 28 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru set to face Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener, as per the reports.

With the BCCI Naman awards ceremony set to take place in New Delhi just ahead of IPL 2026, talks about Virat Kohli attending the event have taken the headlines. The right-hander was part of the Indian squad, which won the T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Although, there is no confirmation related to Kohli attending the BCCI Award Ceremony, there are chances that he might be there as the IPL is also close. The right-hander, who is the GOAT of cricket, currently stays in London with his family and will be in India for the IPL 2026.

There are chances that he might plan his arrival in India early, especially with the BCCI inviting him. Although some social media users have confirmed that the chances of Virat Kohli BCCI Naman awards absence are more, the official confirmation related to it is yet to be made.

The BCCI will be honouring all the members as was confirmed by secretary Devajit Saikia, who said:

“We will also invite the 2025 Champions Trophy winning team members too. So, five ICC trophies won by various Indian teams during the course of the last one year – all the members of those teams will be honoured on the awards night and it will be a great evening of celebrations,” Saikia said.

Virat Kohli to Play Key Role for RCB

Virat Kohli will be joining the the richest team in IPL, RCB, soon for the IPL 2026 season. The batter played a massive role in the franchise winning the title last year. He was the third-highest run-getter in the league with 657 runs to his name.

Kohli had an average of over 54 and also slammed eight fifties in the series. He was in great form for India in ODIs against New Zealand and South Africa and would be keen to carry on that good form in IPL this year.

Kohli has already started the preparations for IPL 2026. He recently posted a reel on Instagram, where he was seen having a quality net session in London.
