Where to Watch IND vs ENG Test Series 2025?
JioHotstar, the leading sports broadcasting network in India, has acquired the digital rights to this much-talked-about Test series between England and India. The deal has been finalized after negotiations with Sony Entertainment Network, or Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited. Talks were going on between the two parties for the last month, and an agreement has been reached in the last 24 hours. Sony has handed over the sub-license of digital streaming to JioHotstar, while the television broadcast rights will still remain with Sony Sports Network.
This ENG vs IND Test series will start in Leeds on June 20. The subsequent Test matches will be played in Birmingham (from July 2), Lord's (from July 10), Manchester (from July 23), and the last match will be played at the Oval (from July 31). It has also been learned that this agreement between JioHotstar and Sony is not limited to this Test series only.
Digital broadcasting of three ODIs and five T20 Internationals to be held in England next year, in 2026, will also be done on JioHotstar. Last year, Sony acquired exclusive broadcasting rights from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) till 2031. The role of the ECB has also been important in making this agreement successful.
Where to Watch IND vs ENG Test on TV?
While JioHotstar will telecast the ENG vs IND Test series on mobile, Sony has retained the television rights for the series. Hence, the series can also be watched on the Sony Sports Network if you want to enjoy it on television. It is likely to be one of the most-watched Test series of the year, and the excitement of Indian fans is no less.
The fact that it is the beginning of the new era for Indian cricket makes this series even more important. The last time the Indian team toured overseas was during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Australia defeated India 3-1 in the series as veteran batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli went through a lean run.
Big Test for Team India
This first Test series without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is not just an overseas tour for the Indian team; it is a new beginning. The leadership is now in the hands of a young player like Shubman Gill, who has established himself as a reliable batsman in recent years. However, captaincy is a completely different responsibility. The squad has young batsmen like Rishabh Pant (vice-captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sai Sudharsan. The experience of Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah will come in handy in the bowling department, but the conditions are always challenging in England.
Not only Rohit and Kohli, but India will have plenty of questions regarding their team combination. They will be without Ravichandran Ashwin, who has retired from international cricket. It remains to be seen how a young Indian team responds to this challenge in this new cycle of the World Test Championship.
