Why is Jasprit Bumrah Not Playing Today in IND vs SA 3rd T20I?

India and South Africa are clashing against each other in the third match of the five-match T20I series at the HPCA Cricket Stadium in Dharamsala on December 14. The series is levelled up at 1-1, with India winning the first while the Proteas winning the second game of the series.

India have won the toss in the 3rd T20I, and they have opted to bowl first. As a lot of fans were expecting, there were two changes in the playing XI. However, surprisingly, the changes were made in the bowling department. Axar Patel has been replaced by Kuldeep Yadav as he is unwell. Meanwhile, India's star bowler Jasprit Bumrah also misses out on the match.

Why is Jasprit Bumrah Not Playing Today in IND vs SA 3rd T20I?

Jasprit Bumrah is not playing in the IND vs SA 3rd T20I, as informed by India's skipper Suryakumar Yadav at the toss. But the reason why Jasprit Bumrah is not playing today isn't related to his fitness or form. Suryakumar informed that the pacer had some personal reasons, which is why he won't be able to join today.

“Jasprit Bumrah misses out due to personal reasons back home,” Suryakumar Yadav said at the toss.

Suryakumar didn't disclose what personal reasons exactly forced Bumrah to miss out on the match, but it could be something serious or an emergency due to which he couldn't join. Although fans are awaiting the reason to be disclosed, only time will tell what the actual reason is.

Bumrah's is arguably the best bowler in the world right now and his absence always affects India's gameplan. However, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana gave India a terrific start to put South Africa on the back foot.

Young pacer Harshit Rana came in as Jasprit Bumrah replacement for his game. Rana wasn't a part of India's playing 11 for the first two T20Is but has finally got a chance to showcase his T20 potential.

South Africa Make Three Changes

Despite winning the 2nd T20I, South Africa skipper Aiden Markram revealed that they have made three changes in the playing XI for the 3rd match. David Miller, George Linde, and Lutho Sipamla have been replaced by Corbin Bosch, Tristan Stubbs, and Anrich Nortje respectively.

Markram didn't reveal the reason behind making these changes, but it would be interesting to see how these changes will affect the match for the Proteas. All these changes are likely to be a part of South Africa's rotation policy.
