Why KL Rahul Is Not Playing Today in IND vs AFG 3rd ODI?

2 min
KL Rahul Dropped

The Indian side was expected to experiment with their lineup in the third and final ODI in Chennai, and they did as the team management looks to assess combinations and manage player workload ahead of a busy international calendar. The opening partnership remains the same, with Yashasvi Jaiswal getting another opportunity at the top alongside one of the best ODI batsmen in the world, Rohit Sharma.

Another change is the return of all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was unavailable for the previous fixture because of a minor fitness concern. His inclusion could strengthen India’s balance by offering an additional pace option along with batting depth in the middle order.

During the toss, Indian skipper Shubman Gill conveyed the three changes in the Indian lineup, with KL Rahul also being rested for this clash, as the team is looking to give a chance to the entire squad.

Why KL Rahul Is Not Playing Today in IND vs AFG 3rd ODI?

One of the best batsmen in India, KL Rahul, has been dropped for the 3rd ODI against Afghanistan at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, and Nitish Kumar Reddy has been brought back in as KL Rahul replacement for the final ODI of the series. As expected, the Indian team has made a couple of changes due to workload management and is trying different combinations.

On the bowling side, India has chosen to rest left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh as part of rotation plans rather than due to form or injury concerns, and Prasidh Krishna comes into the side in his place, while Harsh Dubey makes his way as Kuldeep Yadav's replacement.
