Ambati Rayudu Clarifies His Stand Amid TG20 Suspension Controversy

Over the years, Indian cricket has evolved a lot, with several cricket leagues being introduced in the country. A new cricket league based in Telangana is all set to be played from June 21, 2026. The Telangana T20 League or TG20 2026 will be the first and inaugural season of this league, where the young cricketers will get a chance to feature and showcase their talent among the respected Indian cricketers.

However, a few days before the start of the league, the TG20 league controversy arose, which created a sense of fear of delay in the league. A day before the first match, Ambati Rayudu HCA Cricket Operations, drops a big clarification on his role in this league. Statement on Ambati Rayudu TG20 Suspension

The TG20 league controversy revolves around claims that the Hyderabad Cricket Association conducted and promoted the tournament without securing the required approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which has forced the TCA to file legal notices to prominent cricketers like Mohammed Siraj, Ambati Rayudu, and Tilak Varma, who is one of the best batsmen in India, as well as prominent Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda.

Amid all this TG20 league controversy, Rayudu posted a tweet on X, clarifying that there was no role by him in organising TG20. He stated that,

This tweet was clearly directed towards the fact that there was no participation by a former cricketer in the TG20 governing body and in any of the key decisions of the TG20, and he was just promoting the league for the sake of young cricketers who will benefit from it. He is neither responsible nor liable for anything that happened in the name of TG20, as many things have been related to him, as he is the Head of Cricket Operations at the HCA.
