No Legends League Cricket Matches in Amritsar! Know the Reason

The upcoming matches of the Legends League Cricket 2026 that were originally scheduled to take place at the Gandhi Sports Complex Ground are now unlikely to be held in Amritsar. While the organisers have not released any official explanation regarding the change, reports suggest that the fixtures could be shifted to the Indira Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, instead.

No Legends League Cricket in Amritsar

The Legends League matches, which were initially staged in Amritsar, will most likely undergo a change in venue. Although the reason behind this move is not yet known, but the Indira Gandhi International Stadium in Halwani, which is one of the smallest cricket stadiums in India, will most likely conduct these fixtures.

The venue in Haldwani has previously hosted several domestic and league matches and is considered capable of handling the logistical requirements of the tournament. Even in this season, three matches have already been hosted in Haldwani. As a result, the league management is expected to move the scheduled games there to ensure the smooth continuation of the competition.

LLC Amritsar Leg Shifted to Indira Gandhi Stadium

The sixth match of the ongoing Legends League Cricket 2026 will feature a clash between the India Captains and Southern Super Stars at the Indira Gandhi International Stadium in Halwani on Monday, March 16. The fixture was originally planned to take place in Amritsar at the Gandhi Sports Complex Ground, but it was later moved to Haldwani. As of now, there has been no official explanation from the organisers regarding the sudden change of venue.

India Captains, under the leadership of former India cricketer Saurabh Tiwary, have already played two matches in the competition. They began their campaign by registering a 23-run victory against Mumbai Spartans. However, the team could not maintain that momentum in their following game, where they were defeated by 18 runs by Konark Suryas Odisha.

Meanwhile, Southern Super Stars will be playing their opening match of the season in this contest, led by one of the best bowlers in the world of his generation, Harbhajan Singh. The defending champions will be keen to begin the new campaign with a strong performance and continue the form that helped them lift the title last year.
