Why Vaibhav Suryavanshi Cannot Use Team's Changing Room In England Series?

India's latest batting superstar Vaibhav Suryavanshi is all set to tour Ireland for his maiden stint in international cricket. The 15-year-old recently became the youngest cricketer from India to receive a maiden call-up.

However, the young prodigy won't be able to use the team's changing room for the upcoming IND vs IRE series. The news has come as a surprise to the fans as they look for Suryavanshi's highly-anticipated India debut.

Why Vaibhav Suryavanshi Cannot Use Changing Room In England?

According to The Guardian, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) do not allow the Under-16 players to use the adult changing rooms. Since Suryavanshi is still not 16, he won't be able to use the team's changing room.

This means that the youngster, who is already one of the best batsmen in IPL, will have to use his own facilities on the tour of England. He will be permitted in the Indian dressing room only during the team meetings. However, he will be required to leave the dressing room while changing before and after the match.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi dressing room rule has taken his fans by surprise as very few of them were aware about it. However, the youngster's age is not enough for him to use the Indian team dressing room in England yet.

Are Dressing Room Rules Applicable in India?

There is no clarity on Vaibhav Suryavanshi changing room in England so far. However, it will be something new for the 15-year-old opener. These were not applicable during the IPL as India do not have such rules. These rules might be new to Indians but are quite common in English sports.

While playing for Rajasthan Royals, Suryavanshi used the similar dressing room as his other teammates throughout the season. He had a dream season where he emerged as the winner of IPL Orange Cap. The 15-year-old broke several records on the way and caught the attention from all over the cricketing world.

After a terrific IPL season, Suryavanshi was picked for India's T20I squads in Ireland and England. He will fight for the opening slot with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, both of whom played a key role in India's T20 World Cup win.
