Will Haris Rauf Play IND vs PAK Asia Cup Final 2025?

Pakistan national cricket team fast bowler Haris Rauf has done reasonably well for his team with the ball in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. He has been one of the major reasons why his team has reached the final, despite not having a great start in the tournament.

Haris Rauf didn’t feature in the first few games as Pakistan preferred a spin-heavy attack. However, as soon as he was back in the XI, he made his presence felt and took wickets at the crucial junctures of the game, helping his team beat Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the Super Four stage.

Rauf was also a star with the ball against India in their Super Four clash. While the rest of the bowlers were taken to the cleaners, he ensured that he took wickets. With the kind of form that he is in, he will be key for his side in the final, and could reignite the greatest rivalry in cricket.

Will Haris Rauf Be Banned?

While he has been in superb form, there were speculations of Haris Rauf playing the Asia Cup final 2025 against India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) filed an official complaint against him after his gestures during the Super Four clash against India went viral.

After Haris Rauf had a verbal altercation with Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, he was mocked by fans as he was standing near the boundary ropes. Some sections of the Indian crowd were teasing him with “Kohli Kohli” chants. However, he came up with a shameless act in his reply.

Haris Rauf was seen signalling ‘6-0’ and gesturing the plane crash with his hands. This was linked to the imaginary claims of the Pakistan Army downing six Indian planes during the military battle between the two nations after the Pahalgam terror attack.

Following this incident, he came under scanner with BCCI filing a complaint and demanding strict action against him. As a result, the fast bowler attended the hearing for his provocative actions during the match. According to Sports Tak, he pleaded not guilty for the offence, however, he might face a fine from 50-100% from his match fee. But he is unlikely to be banned.

Haris Rauf Injury Against Bangladesh

Haris Rauf Asia Cup final chances came under even more doubt when he faced an injury during the Super 4 game against Bangladesh in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. He looked in some discomfort after he delivered the ball and was lying on the ground in pain.

The physio was also on the ground and although, he resumed his bowling after that, he clearly looked in discomfort. The pacer was seen limping and there is no clarity if he is 100% fit or not for the final, which will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, one of the most beautiful cricket stadiums in the world.

Rauf picked up three wickets in the clash against Bangladesh and helped his team reach the final of the Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan won the game by 11 runs and now would be keen to take revenge for the two losses to India in the final of the tournament.
