Rinku Singh, as per the reports in Revsportz, has joined the team and is all set to feature in the match against Zimbabwe. As per the media outlet, Rinku will rejoin the Indian side on Wednesday (February 25) evening.

Even the Indian batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, confirmed the same in the press conference, saying:
“Rinku Singh is joining the team this evening, he went back home because his father is not well.”

Rinku Singh has been having a disappointing campaign in this edition of ICC T20 World Cup. He has played a role as a finisher but has failed to deliver with his scores reading 6, 1, 11*, 6* and a duck.

Rinku Singh left the practice session in Chennai as his father. Mr. Khanchandra Singh, was on life support due to liver cancer. However, there was always a possibility that he will be back in the squad before the match against Zimbabwe.

His absence prompted the speculations of Sanju Samson getting back into the playing 11 for the IND vs ZIM T20 World Cup 2026 match. Samson has been training intensely in the nets in the lead-up to this important match. However, with Rinku fully fit, Team India is likely to go with the same combination now.
