Will Vaibhav Suryavanshi Make his India Debut During Ireland T20Is?

The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just days away as the first match of the season is scheduled to take place on March 28. The season opener will be hosted by the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the home team and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

However, a lot of eyes will be on the third match of the season when the young prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be in action in the Rajasthan Royals' first match on March 30 against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The upcoming season is going to be very important for the 14-year-old batter, who is eyeing his international debut for the senior men's team in June 2026 against Ireland. If he gets selected, he would be in like to break the record of the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

Will Vaibhav Suryavanshi Play for India Against Ireland?

The Indian cricket team will tour Ireland for a three-match T20I series in the last week of June. The two matches will be played on June 26 and 28 respectively. There are possibilities of the team management to send some new and inexperienced faces on the tour, which is why Vaibhav Suryavanshi India debut could become a reality. However, the biggest query is whether he will make his international debut.

Vaibhav, who has the capability to become the best batsman in the world in future, was born on 27 March 2011, which means he's still 14 years old. The ICC made a rule in 2020, which states that the minimum age to play international cricket must be at least 15 to cope with the physical and mental health of young players.

But Suryavanshi will turn 15 on March 27, which is just seven days away from today. So, technically, Vaibhav Suryavanshi international debut for India could become a reality against Ireland in the T20Is. But it would be interesting to see if the BCCI would send him to the tour or if will they take some more time in domestic cricket.

Will Vaibhav Suryavanshi Break Sachin Tendulkar Record?

If Vaibhav Suryavanshi manages to make his India debut at the age of 15 during the upcoming IND vs IRE T20 series, then he will become the youngest player to feature in an international match.

The record is currently held by the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, who made his international debut at 16 years and 205 days. So, the upcoming season of the IPL is going to be super important for Vaibhav Suryavanshi. If he performs well in the league, he might be selected for the T20I series against Ireland.
