Star RCB Player in Trouble for Assault Against Minor

RCB's star batter Yash Dayal had a considerate season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, winning several matches for the team. His outstanding bowling against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the tournament was one of the most remarkable performances in his career. The bowler has received immense support from the RCB management throughout his stint with the team.

However, after a successful IPL season, Yash Dayal was accused of sexual assault by a woman. While Dayal clearly denied the claims, it came as a huge shock to him and his cricket career. Dayal is one of the biggest names in Indian domestic cricket currently and has also been a part of Indian squad before.

What is Yash Dayal Sexual Assault Case?

Just a few days after these serious allegations, Yash Dayal has landed himself in huge trouble once again, facing allegations of rape. As per reports, an F.I.R. has been lodged against Dayal at Jaipur's Sanganer Police Station for allegedly assaulting a minor girl over a period of two years. While she was just 17 at that time, the police had registered the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The reports suggest that Dayal had promised the young girl of a cricketing career and invited her to a hotel in Sitapura. This is the second Yash Dayal case reported in a few months, just after RCB's success in IPL 2025.

SHO Anil Kumar Jaiman confirmed the player's identity and lodged the case against him. “It is alleged that around two years ago, when the complainant was a minor, he raped her on multiple occasions after offering to help build her cricket career,” Jaiman said. "This year, he contacted her again when he was in Jaipur on IPL duty, called her to his hotel and allegedly raped her there."

How Many Sexual Assault Cases are Lodged Against Yash Dayal?

A few weeks earlier, a woman filed a case against Yash Dayal for allegedly raping her on multiple occasions by promising to marry her. However, the Allahabad High Court recently stayed Dayal's arrest in connection with the case on July 15. The order was passed by Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar. The FIR was filed at the Indirapuram Police Station in Ghaziabad district under Section 69 (Sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, etc.) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on July 6.

The complaint was earlier registered on June 21 via the chief minister's online grievance portal (IGRS). The petitioner's counsel submitted that a person can be accused of an offence under Section 69 of BNS only if it is established that he makes a promise to marry to a woman without any intention to fulfill it.

Moreover, as per the complaint, Dayal and the woman met five years ago, and got into a relationship. The bowler had promised to marry her, but soon started postponing the marriage proposal. The woman found out that Dayal was involved with other women as well, which led her to file a complaint against him.

Yash Dayal IPL 2025 Performance

Yash Dayal first came to RCB in 2024 where his performance was quite impressive. He was bought at INR 5 crores, after he played for the Gujarat Titans (GT) for two years. In 2023, KKR's Rinku Singh hit five sixes in the last over of the match against Yash Dayal. That incident took a toll on the bowler's mental health. However, when RCB showed confidence in him, he did his best for the team.

In 2024, he played in 14 matches and claimed 15 wickets, playing a crucial role in RCB's qualification for the playoffs. His magical spell helped them beat CSK on May 18. Similarly in 2025, he took 13 wickets in 15 matches, and was quite significant throughout the tournament. Dayal's cricketing career has just risen before the allegations came to light. Despite the stay order on arrest by the Allahabad High Court, the second case would surely hamper the bowler's reputation. If he is found guilty for his actions, Dayal might lose his chance to play for the national side as well.
