Former India cricketer Yograj Singh is in trouble for his alleged remarks against women in a viral video clip from a web series. Yograj, who is the father of the legendary India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is an actor along side being a cricket coach.

The recent remarks are linked to Yograj Singh new web series, Lukkhe, which released just a few days back on Amazon Prime Video. During the scene, Yograj's character "Walia Sahab" is making derogatory remarks against women during a conversation in a police station.

Will Yograj Singh Be Arrested For Remarks Against Women?

According to ANI, FIR has been registered against Yograj Singh at the Sector 36 Police Station, Chandigarh under Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 62A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The video clip of Yograj's derogatory remarks against women circulated on social media, and further led to massive criticism. The Punjab State Women Commission took note of the incident and issued a notice to Yograj, which directed a senior police officer of the state to investigate the matter. If found guilty, Yograj Singh arrest could also be on the cards.

Yograj Singh remarks against women in this controversy is not likely to end soon. Some factions of the society have defended him, calling it a part of his fictional work. However, critics also argue that public figures must be careful before speaking anything as part of their roles.
