Taking to X, Lalit Modi reacted to a report and hinted that the individual at the centre of the controversy was allegedly connected to Rajeev Shukla. In his post, Modi claimed he had received information from multiple sources and urged authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.

However, no official statement has yet been issued by the board or by the individuals named in the controversy. Lalit Modi has often made headlines for his outspoken comments on cricket administration and IPL-related matters.

Is Rajeev Shukla Involved in Alleged Corruption?

The entire Lalit Modi Rajeev Shukla controversy began after a report claimed that a young IPL player was allegedly caught in a blackmail situation involving a person said to be working closely with a senior cricket board official. As per the report, the cricketer was allegedly asked to pay money to help secure an IPL deal. When the player reportedly refused, the person is accused of threatening and pressuring him.

The report also stated that the accused later joined hands with a journalist and allegedly started sharing details related to the player’s private life on social media after not getting the desired response. The claims have raised serious concerns, especially over the alleged misuse of personal information to put pressure on players. So far, neither the richest cricket board in the world, the BCCI, nor the people mentioned in the allegations have responded publicly to the matter.

As per these reports, this may not be the first case, as some players in both IPL and domestic cricket have previously faced similar financial pressure while trying to earn playing opportunities. It further claimed that certain cricketers are sometimes forced to give up part of their earnings or match fees in hopes of improving their chances of selection.
