Nishant Sindhu is a promising Indian all-rounder whose composed middle-order batting and slow left-arm orthodox bowling have established him as a rising star. Hailing from Rohtak, Haryana, Sindhu first shot to national spotlight as a vital member of India’s victorious 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad, famously hitting an unbeaten half-century in the final against England.

A consistent performer for Haryana in domestic cricket, he has since cemented his reputation as an invaluable asset. His all-round capabilities and immense potential have also made him a prized talent in the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut with Gujarat Titans on 3rd May, 2026 in the match against the 2025 runners-up, Punjab Kings.

Growing up in a sporting household in Rohtak, Haryana, Nishant Sindhu was born into a family with a strong athletic background. His father, Sunil Kumar, was a former state-level boxer who originally hoped his son would follow in his footsteps. However, inspired by India's historic 2011 World Cup victory and the leadership of MS Dhoni, the young southpaw chose to channel his passion into cricket.

At just three years old, his father noticed his natural left-handed stance when tossing a ball to him. Realising his potential, his family supported his aspirations, and he began formal training at the Shri Ram Narain Cricket Academy under the tutelage of former Haryana first-class cricketer Ashwani Kumar.
