Konami released the eFootball version 5.4.0 update on April 9, 2026. The new version introduced a new mode called Master League Sprint. This new mode took over the community as players were tasked with building a dream team, managing its transfers, maintaining its budgets and playing matches to help their club win the league.

The new version also brought the 1-billion downloads campaign as Konami celebrated the milestone with many free chance deals and free epic packs. A minor patch (5.4.1) to this update is expected to come in May 2026. This will be announced on the official website of eFootball and there will be no separate connect stream.

eFootball V5.5.0 Update

The next eFootball version update is speculated to arrive in June 2026. This update is expected to align with the FIFA World Cup 2026. The game's history suggests that you can expect to see World Cup-themed campaigns and modes, something similar to what arrived in eFootball 2023 (during Qatar 2022 WC).

You will also likely be getting special World Cup-themed cards and mini 50-player packs involving just one epic. The 9th anniversary celebration for mobile is also expected to roll out during the same time.

This update is expected to arrive on June 11th 2026. You will be notified about it with a special eFootball Connect stream that will be scheduled some days before release.

eFootball 2027 Update

The eFootball 2027 Season update is expected to arrive after the end of the World Cup campaign in the first week of August 2026. Historically, Konami releases the seasonal updates for eFootball every August.
