The 46-year-old manager was shown a red card after the full-time whistle during the intense Merseyside derby when the Reds played out a dramatic 2-2 draw against historic rivals Everton at Goodison Park on 12 February. Therefore, his fellow technical staff and assistant Johnny Heitinga was on managerial duty yesterday evening.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff were charged with using inappropriate verbal actions with match officials, both have been handed a two-game suspension from the dugout and a compulsory monetary fine of £70,000 fine to Arne Slot, while £7,000 fine against Hulshoff for his involvement in the heated post-match incident.
The FA statement read: “An independent Regulatory Commission has sanctioned Everton, Liverpool, Arne Slot and Sipke Hulshoff in relation to the Premier League fixture between the clubs on Wednesday 12 February.”
In addition to Liverpool’s staff, the independent regulatory commission has also punished both the Merseyside teams, Everton and Liverpool with significant fines of £65,000 and £50,000 respectively. After the clubs failed to maintain law and order among their players and backroom staff who were involved in the brawl and indecency that escalated into an intense altercation.

When will Arne Slot return to the touchline?
Arne Slot will return on the sidelines for Liverpool in their upcoming UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg clash against PSG on 5th March at Parc des Princes and second-leg tie at home. However, he will be absent from the Premier League against Southampton since the ban is only applicable to domestic matches.
The former Feyenoord coach will be again leading the Reds from the touchline in domestic competitions, after the March International break. When Liverpool will lock horns against Newcastle United in the EFL Cup finale at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
