Thiago Silva has been one of the greatest defenders of the modern generation. He has consistently performed for every club he played for. The Brazilian also said that he had a talk with Carlo Ancelotti in his office, but the talk of his return was not part of the conversation. However, he acknowledged that Ancelotti knows that he can always count on him.

Though there are players like Bremer from Juventus to fill the void, Thiago Silva comeback will add an element of experience and leadership in the backline, something which the Brazil national football team lacks at times.

At 40 years old, the centre-back is still delivering on almost every matchday for Fluminese, making his case strong for a return to the national team. Carlo Ancelotti revealed back in September that he's still in contact with Thiago Silva and believes that the centre back can return to the squad even at this age if he keeps performing at the highest levels. He gave the example of AC Milan midfielder Luka Modric and Paolo Maldini to back his opinion. Nevertheless, Fans will be delighted for sure to see Thiago Silva in World Cup 2026 for a last dance, if Carlo Ancelotti ultimately decides to call upon one of his oldest students in the game.
