Fabio initially started his career at Porto after which he joined Benfica for two years and returned back to Porto in 2015. He then made his senior debut for them breaking multiple records as a young player since he was just 17 at the time. After three years at Porto winning a few titles, Wolverhampton Wanderers signed him in 2020 and loaned him out to various clubs year by year namely to Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and currently Las Palmas.
He was always a presence in the Portuguese national team having played for their U15, U17, U18 and U19 side and eventually his domestic exploits in football earned him a call-up to the senior side in 2024.
Porto: Fabio Silva made his debut for Porto in August, 2019 at just 17 years old surpassing Bruno Gama's record as the youngest player in the club's history. He then became the club's youngest player in European competitions after playing against Young Boys in the UEFA Europa League group stage. This was a record previously held by Ruben Neves and Fabio Silva took two more records away from Ruben Neves. The first was when Silva scored his first goal in October, 2019 against Coimbroes in the third round of the Taca De Portugal making him the club's youngest goal-scorer in history. Just eight days later, he took away another record from Neves becoming Porto's youngest league goalscorer when he scored in a 3-0 win against Famalicao.
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Wolves signed Fabio Silva in 2020 on a five year deal for a club record fee. Silva did spend two years at Wolves where he did manage to score a few goals but was loaned out to various clubs starting in 2022. Over the span of three years, the striker has played at Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and is currently at Las Palmas.
Anderlecht: Silva joined Anderlecht in 2022 on a season long loan alongside signing a contract extension with Wolves until 2026 with option of one more year. He scored on his Belgian Pro League debut against Oostende after coming off the bench in a 2-0 win. His spell at Anderlecht was great where he had 11 goals and four assists in 32 appearances. The agreement with Anderlecht was terminated in January 2023 after which he joined PSV until the season ended.
PSV: Fabio Silva had a short but memorable stint at PSV where he won the KNVB Cup in 2023. He came on in place of Luuk De Jong at extra time in the KNVB Cup final against Ajax with the score being 1-1. The game eventually went to penalty shoot-outs and Silva scored the winning penalty. Overall, his spell at PSV ended with five goals in 19 appearances.
Rangers: Wolves then loaned Silva to Scottish side Rangers for a season long loan in January 2024. He was the first signing under manager Phillipe Clement and managed to score six goals in 25 appearances.
Las Palmas: The Portuguese then joined Las Palmas in August 2024 for a year long loan and has had a great run there despite his team getting relegated from La Liga. He even scored the winning goal against FC Barcelona at the iconic Camp Nou in 2024 which is perhaps his most memorable goal in recent times. Overall, his stint was very successful in La Liga where he has 10 goals and three assists in 25 appearances.
Fabio Silva has had prior experience for the Portuguese national team having played for the U15 side and U17 side in the 2019 UEFA European Championship and the U19 side as well.
