The Croatian started his professional career at Hajduk Split in 1995 and was instantly seen as a star defender given his technique and ball control. He further joined Juventus in 1998 and spent eight years in the club making tremendous partnerships with several high-profile defenders. At Juventus, Igor Tudor was also seen as a midfielder at times showcasing his defensive prowess. After struggling with injuries, Tudor decided to return to Hajduk Split making a comeback after his injury.

After having a mediocre run at Hajduk, Tudor announced his early retirement at the age of 30 on July 22, 2008.

The veteran defender played for the Croatian national team between 1997 and 2006. Before that, he started his career by playing for Croatia’s U-17, U-19, and U-21 squads from 1993 to 2000. He debuted with his senior team at the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine in November 1997. Tudor made several appearances for Croatia at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and was also part of the Croatian national team in the UEFA Euro 2000.

Tudor missed the 2002 FIFA World Cup due to an injury but was a part of the squad in the UEFA Euro 2006. After his tremendous performance at the 2006 World Cup, he retired from International format with 55 caps and three goals to his name.

The Croatian defender started his managerial career in 2009 after becoming the assistant manager for Hajduk Split. 2012 saw him becoming the manager of Hajduk’s U-17 squad where he simultaneously spent some time at Juventus in order to improve his skills with then-manager Antonio Conte. In 2013, Tudor became the manager of Hajduk Split senior side where he won the 2012-13 Croatian Cup against Lokomotiva in the final.

After managing Hajduk Split for two years, he was hired as the new manager for PAOK in 2015. After underwhelming results, he was dismissed in 2016 after which he turned his managerial skills to Turkish side Karabükspor. Decent results with Karabükspor led Tudor to become the new manager of Galatasaray in 2017 but was sacked by the club by the end of the year due to poor results.

Udinese became home for Igor Tudor in 2018 and the Croatian saved the Italian side from relegation to Serie B in 2018. After leaving the club in 2018, he returned to the club in 2019 but this time, he was not able to deliver a string of good results. Tudor further had short spells at Hajduk Split and also became the assistant manager to Andrea Pirlo for Juventus in 2021. He then moved to Italian side Hellas Verona in 2021 and benefitted the club with several wins throughout the season making them a solid team.

After parting ways with Hellas Verona, Tudor joined Marseille in 2022 but parted ways with the club at the end of the season after poor results. 2024 saw him managing Lazio for one season.
