Matchday 12 of the Saudi Pro League saw Al Ahli host Al Nassr at the Alinma Bank Stadium at King Abdullah Sport City. This was the first time these two teams had met this season after the Saudi Super Cup final in February. Mehdi Demiral headed in from a free kick in the 55th minute to restore Al Ahli's lead once again in the game. Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo had an off day according to his standards, and so did the entire frontline.

Al Nassr tried their level best but couldn't breach the Al Ahli backline any further. The tail-end of the game saw two red cards being dished out, one for Al Ahli's Majrashi and one for Al-Boushail.
