Barcelona secured a convincing 0-3 victory against Alaves after Robert Lewandowski scored in the seventh, 22nd, and 32nd minute. This hat trick took his league tally to ten goals in nine matches and has a total of 12 goals in 11 games in all competitions. This victory moved Barcelona three points back in front of Real Madrid before the international break.

Barcelona was coming off its first league loss of the season to Osasuna. It was the third loss in a row for Alaves as they would look to regroup during the international break and return to bring a change in their fortune.
