Gregor Kobel - 7.0: Honestly, he could have brought a deckchair for most of the game. He only had one save to make all night, which he handled with ease. What really stood out to us was his distribution, completing 23 of 24 passes. That's a midfielder's accuracy. A very quiet, but composed, evening for the keeper.

Defenders

Waldemar Anton - 7.0: A really solid and professional display from the defender. He was neat on the ball, boasting a 93% pass accuracy, and made some key interceptions and clearances. He didn't have to do anything spectacular, but he performed his duties flawlessly before being substituted late on. A reliable cog in a well-oiled machine.

Nico Schlotterbeck - 9.0: What a performance. Our Man of the Match, without a doubt. He was an absolute colossus at the back, reading the game like a book. His stats are just incredible: 111 touches, 95% pass accuracy, eight ball recoveries, and a last-man tackle. He even had a clearance off the line. This was a true captain's display, utterly dominant from start to finish.

Aarón Anselmino - 8.0: This was a surprisingly mature performance from the defender. He grabbed the assist for the crucial opening goal with a great delivery. Beyond that, he was defensively sound, winning his duels and showing great composure on the ball. He never looked flustered and contributed significantly to both defence and attack. A fantastic outing.

Midfielders

Yan Couto - 7.0: Deployed in a more advanced role, he was a bundle of energy. While he was dribbled past a few times, he also won four tackles and was always looking to get forward. He lost the ball a bit too often for our liking, but his intent was always positive. A decent, all-action performance that caused problems.

Felix Nmecha - 7.5: The unsung hero in midfield. He kept everything ticking over with an unbelievable 98% pass accuracy. He didn't create a big chance, but his role was to control the tempo and recycle possession, which he did to perfection. He was the calm head in the middle of the park that allowed the attackers to flourish.

Marcel Sabitzer - 7.0: A typically industrious performance from the Austrian. He worked tirelessly, won his duels, and kept the ball moving forward with purpose. From our perspective, his off-the-ball work was just as important as his contribution in possession. He played a crucial part in overwhelming the Villarreal midfield.

Daniel Svensson - 8.0: What a game for him. He was a constant threat down the left flank all evening, and was rewarded with a well-deserved goal in stoppage time. He was strong in the tackle, put in some dangerous crosses, and capped it all off with a smart header. A complete performance.

Forwards

Serhou Guirassy - 8.5: A poacher's masterclass. He was in the right place at the right time for both of his goals. His header for the first was pure instinct, and his second was a calm finish. He may have missed a penalty, but scoring a brace more than makes up for it. He led the line brilliantly.

Julian Brandt - 7.0: He was a livewire during his time on the pitch. He created a big chance and his dribbling caused constant issues for the opposition defence. While he didn't get a goal or assist, his creative spark was vital in the first hour. A strong contribution.

Karim Adeyemi - 8.5: Absolutely electric. He was a nightmare for Villarreal to handle. He scored a great goal, won a penalty, and completed six successful dribbles. Yes, he lost possession a lot and got a yellow card, but that's what you get with such a direct and aggressive player. He was worth the price of admission alone.

Fábio Silva - 5.5: Came on and had a golden chance to score from the spot but hit the crossbar. Didn't have much other impact.

Goalkeeper

Luiz Júnior - 6.0: A truly thankless task. He conceded four goals, but frankly, it could have been six or seven. He made a brilliant penalty save and a couple of other key stops. He was let down completely by the ten players in front of him. A scoreline like this is never good for a keeper, but he prevented it from being a historic humiliation.

Defenders

Juan Foyth - 3.0: A complete disaster of a performance. As captain, he should have been a leader, but he crumbled under pressure. Conceding a penalty with a handball was bad enough, but getting a straight red card for it was inexcusable. It was the moment the game was truly lost. A shocking display.

Renato Veiga - 4.5: He was completely overwhelmed by Dortmund's relentless attack. While he made a few clearances, he was part of a defensive unit that was torn to shreds time and time again. He looked lost at sea against the pace and movement of the home side. A very difficult night.

Santiago Mouriño - 5.0: He battled hard, winning seven duels, but he was ultimately outclassed. He was dribbled past three times and struggled to contain the fluid Dortmund attack. From our perspective, he was fighting a losing battle, but he kept fighting, which is more than can be said for some of his teammates.

Santi Comesaña - 5.5: He showed some flashes of intent, trying to drive forward with the ball. However, he was largely anonymous and was simply bypassed by Dortmund's slick midfield. Losing possession 10 times in a game like this is far too high. Substituted with little impact made.

Thomas Partey - 5.0: We were really disappointed by his performance. He looked a yard off the pace and struggled to get into the game at all. His passing was sloppy, and he offered little defensive protection. A player of his quality should be influencing games like this, but he was completely anonymous.

Pape Gueye - 5.5: Showed some fight, which was commendable. He tried to get on the ball and make things happen, but his final product was poor and he gave the ball away 14 times. He was one of the few who seemed to care, but he lacked the quality to make a difference.

Tajon Buchanan - 6.0: Probably Villarreal's brightest spark, which isn't saying much. He was a nuisance early on, drawing five fouls and showing some attacking intent. However, he missed a big chance and his influence waned as the game went on. At least he tried.
