Borussia Dortmund Player Ratings vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Check out Borussia Dortmund Player Ratings from the game:

Goalkeeper

Gregor Kobel - 6.0: A tough day at the office for Kobel. He conceded three goals but it's hard to fault him for any of them directly. He made three saves, including a couple of sharp stops to keep his team in it during the first half. His distribution was solid, but ultimately, he couldn't be the hero his team needed.

Defenders

Waldemar Anton - 6.5: He was heavily involved, with 115 touches showing how much Dortmund tried to build through him. He was strong in his duels, winning seven of them, but was also part of a defence that shipped three goals. Picked up a deserved yellow card for a cynical foul. A mixed performance, really.

Nico Schlotterbeck - 7.5: From our perspective, he was a rock at the back. The captain led by example, winning almost all his duels and making six crucial clearances. He was so unlucky not to score a late winner, with his header crashing against the crossbar. An commanding presence even on a chaotic day.

Niklas Süle - 6.5: A solid outing before he was substituted. He was strong in the tackle, winning three of four attempted, and his interceptions were timely. He looked comfortable for his 76 minutes on the pitch, though he did get a yellow card. The defence seemed to miss his presence after he left.

Midfielders

Felix Nmecha - 8.0: Our man of the match. What a performance. He was the engine in Dortmund's midfield, breaking up play and driving forward. His goal was an absolute screamer from outside the box, a moment of pure quality. He barely put a foot wrong and his energy was infectious.

Marcel Sabitzer - 6.5: A typically industrious performance from the Austrian. He kept possession well and recovered the ball multiple times. However, we felt he lacked that cutting edge in the final third. He worked hard, but couldn't provide the spark needed to unlock the Frankfurt defence more often.

Daniel Svensson - 6.0: A bit of an anonymous display. He fought hard in midfield, winning a decent number of duels, but struggled to impose himself on the game offensively. He had a great chance in the second half that he really should have done better with. Not his best day.

Julian Ryerson - 7.0: Provided a wonderful assist for the opening goal and was a constant menace with his crossing. He was always looking to get forward and create. The downside was his tendency to be a bit loose in possession, losing it 23 times, which is far too high.

Forwards

Serhou Guirassy - 4.5: A shocker of a performance, plain and simple. What stood out to us was his clumsy challenge to give away the penalty in the first half. Beyond that, he offered very little, touching the ball just 16 times before being subbed. A day to forget for the striker.

Julian Brandt - 6.5: A frustrating player to watch. He showed flashes of his brilliance, with some nice dribbles and a saved shot, but he also lost possession 19 times. We expect more from a player of his calibre. He was involved but lacked the consistency to truly dominate.

Maximilian Beier - 7.0: Took his goal with the composure of a seasoned veteran, giving Dortmund the perfect start. He was a livewire until he was substituted, always looking to run in behind and cause problems. A very promising performance.

Manager

N. Kovač - 6.5: His team showed incredible spirit to fight for a point at the death. You have to credit his side's mentality. However, the defensive frailties are a massive concern, and his team looked vulnerable every time Frankfurt attacked. The subs didn't make a huge impact, but the result papers over some cracks.

Eintracht Frankfurt Player Ratings vs Borussia Dortmund

Here are Sportsdunia's Eintracht Frankfurt player ratings from the Bundesliga game:

Goalkeeper

Kauã Santos - 6.0: A really mixed bag for the keeper. He conceded three but also made a few key saves to keep his team in it, including a great stop to deny Brandt. His distribution was erratic, with a pass accuracy of just 51%, putting his team under pressure unnecessarily at times.

Defenders

Arthur Theate - 7.5: He was absolutely outstanding before being forced off with an injury. The man was a wall, winning 8 out of 10 duels and making a staggering 6 tackles. He was reading the game brilliantly. It was a huge blow for Frankfurt when he had to leave the field.

Robin Koch - 6.5: The captain had a solid game. He showed great intelligence to win the penalty in the first half. Defensively he was sound, making six clearances and doing his job without much fuss. A leader's performance, though he was part of a defence that ultimately conceded three.

Rasmus Kristensen - 6.5: He got up and down the right flank well, contributing to the attack with two key passes. Defensively, he was diligent, making five clearances. It was a steady, if not spectacular, performance from the defender, who fulfilled his duties effectively.

Midfielders

Oscar Højlund - 6.0: A quiet game from the midfielder. He did his job defensively, breaking up play, but he offered very little going forward. He was tidy on the ball but too safe with his passing. Substituted in the second half after an unspectacular showing.

Hugo Larsson - 6.5: Kept things ticking over nicely in the heart of midfield. His ball recovery was impressive, and he completed a high percentage of his passes. He provided the assist for a big chance that was missed, but we wanted to see a bit more drive from him.

Ritsu Doan - 6.0: He was a terrier in midfield, winning a lot of duels and making tackles. However, his work on the ball let him down. He lost possession far too frequently and his end product was lacking. A hard-working but ultimately ineffective performance.

Nathaniel Brown - 6.0: He was a willing runner down the left, but his performance was marred by sloppiness. He won all four of his tackles which was impressive, but he also lost the ball 16 times and his final delivery was poor. The yellow card he picked up was inevitable.

Forwards

Ansgar Knauff - 6.5: Looked dangerous every time he got on the ball, registering four shots. He forced a couple of good saves from Kobel. His final product was just slightly off, otherwise he could have easily been on the scoresheet. A threat throughout.

Younes Ebnoutalib - 7.6: A fantastic, chaotic performance. He scored the crucial second goal with a composed finish and was involved in creating other chances. Yes, he missed a big chance and lost the ball a lot, but his goal and general menace were vital for his team's fightback.

Can Uzun - 7.0: Showed nerves of steel to slot home the penalty and get his team back on level terms. He was a handful for the Dortmund defence, getting a couple of shots on target and looking a real threat before he was taken off. A strong contribution.

Substitutes & Manager

Mahmoud Dahoud - 7.5: What an impact. Came off the bench and scored a goal in stoppage time that he, and everyone else, thought had won the game. A moment of magic from the substitute that almost sealed a famous victory.

D. Toppmöller - 7.0: His game plan was spot on from an attacking perspective. His team showed immense character to come from behind, and his substitution of Dahoud was a masterstroke that nearly paid off. He'll be gutted by the late equalizer, but he can be proud of his team's performance.

Man of the Match

Felix Nmecha of Borussia Dortmund was the player of the match with 8/10 ratings.

Worst Performer

Serhou Guirassy failed to showcase his A-game in the Bundesliga fixture.
