Daniel Batz - 6.5: Had a very quiet evening between the sticks. He made the saves he was expected to make without any real fuss. We noticed his distribution was a little shaky at times, but he was never put under enough pressure for it to matter. A straightforward clean sheet.

Defenders

Andreas Hanche-Olsen - 7.5: A rock at the back for Mainz. He seemed to be everywhere, winning his duels and making a massive 8 clearances. His reading of the game was impeccable, and he snuffed out several potential attacks before they began. A really commanding performance.

Dominik Kohr - 7.0: Played in a defensive role and looked very comfortable. His 5 interceptions show how well he anticipated the play. He was tidy in possession and provided a solid shield for the backline. Just a very steady and reliable showing.
