  • Kenan Yildiz was the Man of the Match with two assists.

Juventus were able to start their 2025/26 Serie A campaign in a positive fashion with a compelling 2-0 win over Parma at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday (24 August, 2025). Two second-half goals from Jonathan David and Dusan Vlahovic sealed an important win to help the Bianconeri make their title ambitions clear.

Juventus began the game in energetic fashion, working hard to win the duels and control the majority of possession. The Bianconeri had their share of chances in the first half, with Sergio Conceicao's header forcing a sharp save from Zion Suzuki in the 13th minute. Suzuki made quite a few easy saves in the first half, with Juventus failing to be ruthless with their finishing despite having over 10 shooting attempts in the first half!

The second helped open the game up as both teams started pushing for goals. Parma almost scored against the run of play in the 47th minute, with Mateo Pellegrino seeing his goalbound shot blocked by Bremer. Conceicao struck the post minutes later as Juventus started piling up the pressure for the visitors.

Juventus took the lead in the 59th minute when a bit of brilliance from Kenan Yildiz helped set up a tap-in for debutant Jonathan David to make it 1-0! As the Bianconeri were sailing their way to victory, they had a setback in the 83rd minute as Andrea Cambiaso saw a direct red card for elbowing an opposition player. However, a minute after the sending off, a lethal counter-attack from the hosts saw Yildiz tee up Dusan Vlahovic for an easy tap-in to make it 2-0!

Here are our Parma Player Ratings.

Goalkeeper

Zion Suzuki - 6/10

Suzuki was kept really busy for the majority of the game. To his credit, the Japanese goalkeeper made a string of sharp saves to frustrate the hosts, but couldn't react quickly enough to stop David or Vlahovic's goals.

Defenders

Enrico Del Prato - 5.5/10

Del Prato was able to recover possession in key areas quite a few times, but he struggled to keep Juventus quiet on his side. Couldn't neutralize Yildiz's threat and failed to react quickly enough for the opening goal.

Alessandro Circati - 6/10

Circati worked really hard to try to keep up a sturdy defensive line. He came up with a number of key clearances, but was ultimately outwitted by David for his goal.

Lautaro Valenti - 6/10

Valenti hard to put in a lot of work on his side to try and keep Juventus quiet. He did win a lot of duels and helped stop a number of attacks, but lost eye of Conceicao on a few occasions.

Mathias Lovik - 5/10

Lovik had a tough time dealing with the tricky Yildiz. He ended up losing quite a few duels and couldn't really frustrate Yildiz enough to keep him isolated either.

Emanuele Valeri - 5/10

Valeri failed to neutralize Juventus' movement down his side, not being energetic enough to dominate the battles. He ended up losing quite a few duels and couldn't create much either.

Mandela Keita - 7/10

Keita was a standout for Parma in the game, as his clever movement and game-reading skills helped him frustrate the Juventus players. He won a number of key duels and recovered possession many times, protecting his backline nicely.

Christian Ordonez - 4.5/10

Orodonez couldn't really be a thorn for the Juventus backline, barely being able to get involved in the attacks. Couldn't complete even 10 passes or create anything big before being taken off.

Adrian Bernabe - 6/10

Bernabe worked quite hard in the midfield, helping disrupt a few Juventus moves through the middle. But he was guilty of giving the ball away quite often and failed to create anything major.

Forwards

Pontus Almqvist - 6/10

Almqvist had a few nice moments in the game, being proactive on some transitions. Created a big chance early in the second half that was wasted.

Mateo Pellegrino - 4/10

Failed to really add anything creative in the midfield, and even got booked.

Adrian Benedyczak - 5/10

Unable to create anything late on.

Nahuel Estevez - N/R

Milan Djuric - N/R

Manager

Carlos Cuesta - 4.5/10

Cuesta received a bit of a reality check in his first game in the Serie A as Parma boss. He was overly defensive with his set-up and his counter-attacking tactics were easily countered by the hosts. Left it too late to go on the attack, causing the second goal and a bitter loss.
