The Etihad Stadium geared up to host home team Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur for an exciting showdown in the second matchweek of the English Premier League. Both teams were coming after a win in their first matchweek. Spurs thrashed Burnley 3-0, whereas Man City were coming after a 4-0 win over Wolves. This was Thomas Frank's first away game as Spurs manager. Many expected this game to go in City's favour as they were the clear favourites, but Frank's masterclass shocked everyone tonight. Thomas Frank's Spurs literally dominated the game for over 80 minutes tonight. The first goal came after young lad Brennan Johnson found the back of the net. Despite being ruled out by VAR, it was later counted as legal. Trafford between the sticks was a disaster tonight as his mistake saw Palhinha double the lead. In the second half, it seemed the Spurs were more interested in finding the third goal than in City's willingness to make a comeback in the game. The match ended with Tottenham Hotspur winning the game 2-0

The Norwegian striker should have put the header inside the goal. In a game where City hardly created chances, he was expected to show some individual brilliance.

Sarr had a decent outing tonight in the midfield

This was Palhinha's debut start for Spurs in the English Premier League, and he got a golden chance to score. He buried the ball behind the net to double the Spurs' lead in the first half.

The Uruguayan also had a decent outing tonight and controlled the possession throughout the game for Spurs.

Strikers

Mohammad Kudus - 8/10

Ever since his inception with the Spurs, he has been a beast. Joining Spurs from West Ham, Kudus has been brilliant and has been constantly making attacks.

Richarlison - 7/10

Richie may not have found his name in the scoresheet, but he was the chief architect behind the second goal for Spurs.

Brennan Johnson - /10
