Real Betis vs Chelsea Player Ratings
  • Chelsea wins the Conference League.
  • Cole Palmer with an all-around performance.
  • Isco's stunning performance comes to an end.

History was guaranteed to be written today, as after nine months, Real Betis and Chelsea clash against each other for the grand finale of the Europa Conference League at the Wroclaw Stadium as a result of their shared hunger for silverware, where a stunning trophy awaits them. A victory could have marked the first-ever European trophy for Betis. On the other side, for Chelsea, it would complete an entire set of UEFA trophies. Both teams have had a relatively rough time coming to this match. Betis have not found a win since their victory against Espanyol earlier this month. On the contrary, though Chelsea has found positive results, it never really could be in a way they would have wished. They have struggled in every aspect of the game, but somehow they managed to find a win as a result of a lucky break. For all these reasons, this match was set to be a statement maker. The stage was set to takedown an intense tactical showdown.

The game began with vigor, and both sides pressed each other, trying to find the opener that would change the plot of the match. However, just a few minutes into the game, Ezzalzouli made his presence felt by making some beautiful runs from the flanks, which added pressure on the opponents. Isco was also seen making a mockery of the opponents, and he was dominating them. In the nineth minute, a combination play from these two players led to Betis scoring the opener. From this moment, the men in white were seen with sheer dominance, and they kept the entire Chelsea unit quiet for the entire first half. Though Chelsea tried to attack, they were locked down by the Betis players.

In the second half, Chelsea were seen pumped up with hunger to score, and this bore results in the 65th minute where they found the back of the net from the services of Enzo, giving his team the equaliser. In a gap of just five minutes, Cole Palmer made a beautiful dribble from the right wing to make a cross inside the six-yard box. Jackson, who was lurking in had to just head in to make it two for Chelsea. Once again, a defensive error from Betis saw Chelsea score two more from the services of Sancho and Caicedo, which won Chelsea the title with a score of 1-4. Here are the Real Betis vs Chelsea Player Ratings.

GK - Adrián - 6/10

The opponents tried to put pressure on the keeper whenever he tried to hold the ball for a long time. In the early minutes, the player was subject to some attempts made by Palmer. However, most of them came directly into his hands and did not create much pressure. In the second half, something went wrong and he had to see everything going to vain.

LB - Ricardo Rodríguez- 6/10

He was seen under some trouble as Neto kept making his runs, and the player was unable to defend for the vast majority of the match. Was relatively little impact less and the gaffer called the player back after the end of the first half. The player's heat map also depicts the lack of mobility, which did not benefit the team.

CB - Natan - 6/10

Was good in the defence and was key in resisting the opponents from scoring. Stood like a wall in the second half to block a powerful shot taken by James from outside the box. He was more focused on the left side, which created space in the centre, inviting trouble for his team. In the second half, they collectively failed to keep the score stagnant.

CB - Marc Bartra - 6/10

Came higher up the order to take a stunning long-ranger, which went like a bullet on target. However, the keeper was sharp and held his hands to deny him from scoring. Gave attention to attack more than what was wanted and left space in the defence, which helped the opponents to infiltrate and craft play.

RB - Youssouf Sabaly - 6/10

Stood solid and always kept his eyes on the ball whenever Madueke tried to penetrate inside the box from the wings. In the second half, once the opponents scored their first, it felt like their defence entirely shattered, and the player was relatively easier to get past. The player did not possess the vigor that he displayed in the first half.

CM - Pablo Fornals - 6.5/10

He was so important to the functionality of the team. Helped in the defence by stopping counterattacks in multiple instances. Stepped into the attack by making some key passes, which gave his team good momentum. He was seen pumped up and was the first one to encourage the fans to chant more to support the team.

CM - Johnny Cardoso - 6.5/10

Got a brilliant opportunity in the form of a sitter from point blank to make it two-nil for his side. Ezzalzouli crafted a beautiful play from the left flank and made a pass to the player who was there in the centre of the box, only to take a shot which was blocked in the final moment. Made some good challenges in the defensive third whenever Chelsea tried to attack.

LW - Abdessamad Ezzalzouli - 7.2/10

Was very much active in the flanks, making constant runs and crosses inside the box to create confusion in the Chelsea box. Opened the scoring for his team by taking a wonderfully crisp and powerful shot, maneuvering from left to right. Made a beautiful run inside the box tricking Gusto to provide a much more impressive pass to Cardoso, only to be missed. Was injured and had to limp off the pitch in the second half.

AM - Isco - 7.2/10

Put in a ton of effort, and he covered almost every blade of grass. Had a great presence of mind throughout the match. His experience came in handy during the first goal as he took his time to make a solid pass to Ezzalzouli, which marked the opener of the game. Rather than taking the shot, he gave a pass displaying his unselfish character. Dispossessed Palmer multiple times in the match. Made some lovely first touches in the attacking third to create problems for Chelsea.

RW - Antony - 6.5/10

Had an above-average match. He was very active on the right, making solid runs, winning duels, alongside making crosses that created some good momentum for his team. Had a good performance in the defence as he made a good number of interceptions and tackles that helped his team excel in the first half. But in the second half, the player was unable to make any significant contribution. The player was also seen visibly frustrated with himself for this performance.

CF - Cédric Bakambu - 6/10

He was not seen for the vast majority of the match and was rarely even named by the commentators. Failed to establish his mark as an attacker. However, this was shadowed by the performance of Isco and Ezzazouli. But the player's inability to score was reflected when the opponents scored four, and they had nothing to display other than the one score. Had he scored, the entire scenario would have been different.

Manager - Manuel Pellegrini - 6/10

Had a good first half; however, the team failed miserably in defence during the second half, which led to his team being on the losing side. He was unable to help his team regroup and fix the problems in the defence when it was evident that it was weak.

GK - Filip Jørgensen - 6.5/10

Did not have anything much to do to save the first goal. This goal, however, did not let the player down, and he was seen making some impressive saves later on in the game. Apart from this, he had some routine saves and clearances.

LB - Marc Cucurella - 6/10

Had a decent performance in the match, not something extraordinary. Though he was seen a bit sloppy initially, he slowly got a grip of the game and was seen performing well. Did well to keep Anthony relatively contributionless.

CB - Benoît Badiashile - 6.8/10

Badiashile was the only positive player seen in the Chelsea backline. Was seen everywhere in the defensive half and had a relatively big role to play in keeping the score remain one-nil for a long period. Made around half a dozen accurate long passes from the defensive third. Had a good amount of clearances, interceptions, and tackles, displaying a solid overall display of action in the back. Got booked under the referee for an unnecessary argument, which slightly resisted his play style.

CB - Trevoh Chalobah - 6/10

Made some good sliding tackles to resist Ezzalzouli. Later on in the game, it was seen that the player positioned himself as a holding midfielder rather than focusing on the defence, even when the defence was struggling and the opponents kept knocking constantly. Was more inclined to the right flank to support Gusto, who was struggling. But his presence did not change things extraordinarily.

RB - Malo Gusto - 4.5/10

He was a bit slippery in the initial minutes as he fumbled a bit to keep control of the ball. Rather than improving, he became more terrible as minutes passed by. He was made a subject of mockery by Ezzalzouli, who constantly went past the player through the flanks with ease. Was subbed off after the end of the first half.

CM - Enzo Fernández - 6/10

He was one of the best players for Chelsea in the previous matches, when even his teammates were struggling. However, in the first half even he was even seen in some serious trouble. Had to directly challenge Isco, where the latter prevailed over the former. In the second half, he proved his worth by showcasing his attacking quality by scoring the goal for his team in the second half that marked the equaliser and set the tone for the rest of the match.

CM - Moisés Caicedo - 6.5/10

Had a good passing accuracy, was seen almost in every part of the ground in the midfield third. Won aerial and ground duels in the midfield that kept the opponents away from scoring. Keot the midfield compact and solid. In the final minutes, he registered his name in the scoresheet, sealing the victory for Chelsea.

LW - Noni Madueke- 6/10

Was active in the flanks. But whenever he tried to make his run inside the box from the flanks, Sabaly stood as an obstacle that the player found it hard to break. He was struggling for the vast majority of the match as he failed to capitalise on the duels he was involved in. Lost possession more than the acceptable limits and did not contribute much to his team.

AM - Cole Palmer - 8.5/10

Made a really good run from the midfield, only to take a bad shot which never really challenged the opponent's keeper. Rather than taking the shot, he could have waited a bit and made a pass, which could have produced a better result. In the second half, he provided an assist to Enzo, which marked the opener for his team. Minutes later, the player made a dribble from the right corner to put in an aerial cross to find Jackson, who just had to head in, giving his team the lead.

RW - Pedro Neto - 7/10

He was the only player who had a decent performance for Chelsea in the first half. Made some good dribbles in the right wing and provided some crosses, only to end in vain as none of the players in the box could convert that. Was key in winning multiple duels and making speedy runs from the wings, which were pivotal for Chelsea.

CF - Nicolas Jackson - 7/10

Put pressure on the keeper from the very first minute. However, after this moment, the player was rarely seen and spoken of. Was involved in a few duels, but the player was unable to win any of them. In the second wing, he was much more mobile, and this change in mobility helped his team earn the second goal, doubling their delight and providing them the lead.

Sub - Recee James - 6.5/10

Sub - Sancho - 7/10

Sub - Colwill - 6/10

Sub - K. D. Hall - 6/10

Sub - Fuiu - 6/10

Manager - Enzo Maresca - 7/10

Though he had a bad first half, he was able to regroup his team and win a historic feat after an excellent comeback. He did excellent substitutions, which changed the tempo of the team in the second half. Understood the assignment that the backline of the opponents was weak once they scored, and properly deployed substitutions, which helped his team get results. His mastermind was the key reason why the team scored four goals in the second half.

Sportsdunia's Player of the Match is Cole Palmer.
