Cole Palmer joined Manchester City’s academy at the age of eight despite being a fan of Manchester United. He progressed through the ranks captaining the under-18 team during the 2019-20 season. At 14, there were concerns about his slight physique, and coaches considered releasing him at 16. However, academy director Jason Wilcox decided to keep him.

Cole Palmer has represented England at various youth levels. The Chelsea playmaker played for the England under-17 team in the 2019 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. He was also a part of the team that won the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
