Real Madrid 3-1 Manchester City Player Ratings: A Mbappe hat-trick seals a comprehensive win for Los Blancos

Real Madrid march into the Round of 16 in style, thanks to a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappe. A comprehensive 3-1 win over the Cityzens will now put them against Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the next round.

Ancelotti has made one change from the first leg against Manchester City. In defence, Rudiger comes into the side, replacing Camavinga. Meanwhile, Guardiola has made five changes from their previous Champions League clash, with Erling Haaland making the bench.

It was a dream start for Real Madrid as Asencio played a sensational pass over the top of the Man City defence, which Mbappe got on the end of it, and he lifted the ball over Ederson and into the goal. Real Madrid continued to trouble the defence and after a series of smart moves, Ancelotti’s men doubled their lead later in the half as Mbappe struck once again, cutting inside Gvardiol before firing into the bottom corner. It was a disappointing half for the visitors, getting only one shot the whole half.

With a huge mountain to climb, Manchester City had a big task cut out for them. But it was the hosts who were in complete control throughout the game. Real Madrid and Mbappe added a third goal to their tally for the night, after he bent a superb strike into the bottom corner. While it looked like everything was done, City got a consolation goal late in the game, as Marmoush was standing over a free-kick and he whipped a superb effort over the wall. It cannoned off the bar and fell straight to the feet of Nico, and the City midfielder tapped into an empty net.

Here are the Real Madrid vs Manchester City Player Ratings.

He played as a strike partner to Marmoush tonight and failed to make any sort of troubling impact on the opposition.

A late appearance to shuffle things up, but nothing notable from him.

Another toothless display from his side, as they looked so disorganized on the pitch from defence to attack. It is truly a night to forget.
